Dr. Liu’s research interests lie at the intersection of membrane technology, interface and colloid science, and electrochemistry. His research aims to study fundamental interfacial phenomena and develop more selective, durable, and cost-effective water purification and resource recovery technologies. His current research interests include membrane technologies for advanced water purification and reuse, electrochemical separation for selective recovery of valuable resources from aqueous systems, and colloidal particulate amendments for the in situ remediation of groundwater.
