Dr. Tianshu Li (CEE) is a co-PI of the DOD Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) project titled “Understanding and Breaking the Material Barriers of SiGeSn Alloys for Infrared Devices.” The grant is awarded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The goal of the project is to develop high quality SiGeSn alloys for lighter, faster, higher signal-to-noise, and more energy efficient infrared imaging devices as the next generation infrared imaging technology. The MURI team is composed of investigators from five universities: University of Arkansas (lead), Arizona State University, Dartmouth College, University of Massachusetts at Boston, and George Washington University. The team is awarded a total of $7.5 million for five years, and Dr. Li's share is $1.044 million.
